Origin and raw material commitment
Our raw materials quality commitment
Germ’line selects only the best seed growers as partners, and always gives priority to short supply circuits. To achieve flawless control over quality and traceability criteria, the vast majority of the seeds used by Germ’line today come from France and Italy.
They are produced organically and are guaranteed GMO-free.
Our supply chain quality commitment: organic fair trade and traceability
Germ’line supports growing contracts, on a priority basis in France and in the immediate vicinity of the company, to develop its seed multiplication programmes.
This policy is part of an intensified company-wide plan to promote cooperation with its organic farming partners, including price indexation based on germination rate to share economic returns more fairly according to seed quality. This programme is rewarded and supported by Agence Bio, the French organic farming development agency.
One of Germ’line’s major concerns in its close-knit relations with its organic growers, is the ability to identify each and every batch by grower, right down to the plot it was grown in, thereby providing seamless traceability.
In 2014, Germ’line, the group of fair trade seeds producers based in the Aude French region and the Agence Bio (French organic association) have signed a partnership convention, and that was the very first steps of a long term collaboration.
