Story
Germ’line was founded in 1994. Its core business at the time consisted in producing and marketing mung bean sprouts in ready-to-use trays. With production in excess of 1,200 tonnes a year, Germ’line was already leading the French market.
The year 2000 saw the arrival of a new owner who refocused the business on organic foods, and diversified the product and service offering. A full-scale investment programme was now launched, mainly to automate the sprouted seed packaging line and purchase new equipment with a view to extending the product range.
In 2005, a special soft technology drying process was developed to produce new sprouted products with fully preserved nutritional benefits. This is how the first sprouted cereal bars and ingredients for health and baby foods were born.
The year 2012 was marked by another wave of investment in technology and human resources. A new building was constructed to extend the company’s sprouted product business to the international market.
