Alfalfa for sprouting
From the pulse family, alfalfa (lucerne) is the queen of sproutable seeds because of its many nutritional values. Easy to grow, it is one of the most well-known and popular seeds.
Its green, mild flavour is usually pleasing to most palates.
Eat the raw, tender, crunchy sprouts when they are approx. 2 to 3 cm in size.
Easiness : quick and easy. The alfalfa seed is ideal for those just starting out with sprouting.
Soaking time: 1 night.
Growing time: 5 to 6 days.
Ingredients: 100% alfalfa (Medicago sativa) seeds for sprouting, proceeding from organic farming. Origin: France, Italy.
It goes very well with prawns, and can be added to a cream cheese and herb filling for pancakes, canapés and blinis.

Keep your sproutable seeds in their sachets at room temperature in a dry place.
The fresher they are, the better your sproutable seeds. If you do not use them immediately, keep them for a few days in the fridge, preferably in a closed recipient, and covered with Clingfilm.
Its modern name “alfalfa” comes from the Arabic for “father of all foods”. Discovered in Iran, horses were given alfalfa to make them strong and spirited.
